Spontaneous winter hike!

Yay for spontaneous hikes! Yesterday I made an Instagram post about how I had a list of things to do but that I was wishing I could be out doing a hike or snowshoeing after our recent snowstorm. Well, I decided to ditch the house and took my young Siberian Husky, Togo, out on a quick hike in the Boise Foothills. It was definitely the right decision! The hike was amazing and the air was crisp (12 degrees) but there was no damp chill so it was great. The particular hike I chose is a dog off leash hiking area and it is well used. Togo tends to be hesitant around other dogs so I am trying to socialize him more. He did great! He stayed close when he was nervous but we spent most of the hike by ourselves. A couple times he was distracted making new friends and didn't come back when called but overall he did amazing and I couldn't have asked for a better hike for the two of us. He has blown me away with his listening (I was expecting normal Husky behavior) and he likes to stick near me so that helps!
I’m feeling like these photos need to go somewhere, so here are my digital scrapbook pages to remember this hike. Togo was feeling photogenic and the lighting was fantastic with the snow. If I could do snow photographs all year I would be one happy girl! I love winter and the snow adds such a great aspect to lighting and mood. And to make this an even greater hike, it started snowing towards the end! Talk about a good mental refresh and endorphin booster.
What I wore on this hike:
Athleta Polartec quarter zip top from a previous year
Salomon Quest 4 Gor-Tex Boots - mine are from several years ago but are still going strong!
